About this object
The photograph shows the Club Hotel, Marine Parade, Napier which was not damaged by the devastating effects of the 3 February 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake. Standing on the verandah is a group of unidentified men. Underneath the photograph Ernest Sinclair has written: Club Hotel. Some of the Boys.
Ernest is referring to the group of Health Inspectors that came to Napier after the earthquake and stayed at the Club Hotel for the interim duration of their employment.
