About this object
The photograph shows the damage caused by the 3 February 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake to Bluff Hill, Napier. The land has slipped away causing the foundations of houses perched above, to be undermined. The building in the lower left hand corner has been damaged by the slip. Underneath the photograph Ernest Sinclair has written: Looking up from Battery Road.
