About this object
The photograph shows the damage caused by the 3 February 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake to Dr Fitzgerald's residence on Marine Parade, Napier. The front of the building has completely collapsed and the building has come off its foundations. The Napier Borough Council building is visible on the extreme left. The road in front has been cleared of debris. Underneath the photograph Ernest Sinclair has written: Dr Fitzgerald's Residence.
