The photograph shows the damage caused by the 3 February 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake to a wooden house situated on the top of Bluff Hill, Napier. The house, which belongs to the Geddis family, has come off its foundations. A caption written underneath the photograph reads: Gedde's [sic] House Bluff Hill, Back view.
