About this object
The photograph shows the damage, caused by the 3 February 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake, to a wooden house situated on the top of Bluff Hill, Napier. The photograph has been taken from Lighthouse Road. The house on the top of the horizon belongs to the Geddis family. The roof has caved in. The house shown below appears to be intact. Ernest Sinclair has written underneath the photograph: Gedde's [sic] House overlooking Bluff Hill. Distant view from Lighthouse Rd.
