About this object
The photograph shows the damage caused by the 3 February 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake to a private dwelling on the Taupo Road. The second storey has completely collapsed inwards leaving the walls of the first storey standing. Ernest Sinclair has written underneath the photograph: £4000 private dwelling completely ruined. Taupo Road.
