About this object
The photograph shows the devastation caused by the 3 February 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake and subsequent fire, to the Napier Public Trust building on Tennyson Street. The building on the right has been completely gutted by fire. The debris on the road has been cleaned up. Ernest Sinclair has written underneath the photograph: Public Trust Office.
