About this object
Stretcher bearers carry a wounded soldier under shellfire on the Somme. Shows them walking along a muddy road with shell explosions at some distance on the left. A car is further along on the road. Photograph taken Courcelles 6 April 1918 by Henry Armytage Sanders. H478 is written on the photograph.
