About this object
The photograph shows a view of a windmill at the abbey at Mont-Des-Cats, France. On the left is a cross with a statue of Jesus nailed to it.
The photograph is glued to a page in Leo Bestall's diary and album. Under it he has written: The Huns committed many atrocities here on the nuns in the early days of the war. The monastery was later blown to bits.
