The photograph shows a lifeboat on the S.S. Nile. The photograph is glued to a page in Leo Bestall's diary and album. He has written at the bottom of the photograph: Acorn in the distance. Leo is referring to the H.M.S. Acorn. Leo Bestall was on the S.S. Nile which carried the New Zealand troops from Alexandria to Devonport, England.
