About this object
The photograph shows the Sphinx and pyramids at Giza, Egypt. Three men and two donkeys are are posing for the photograph. The photograph is glued to a page in Leo Bestall's diary and album. He has written under the photograph: Mac & I at the Pyramids of Cleops (sic). The man in the middle would be a local guide. Leo is on the left, Mac on the right.

Date, exact date unknown but probably sometime in April/May 1916 as Leo embarked from Wellington on 1 April 1916.
