Brief Description
The obituary card is written about Mrs Harry (May) de Lautour. She died on 15 April 1913.
In the obituary she was described as having been grievously ill for some time. She was loved wherever she went, was kind in the judgement of others, sought to praise rather than to blame, was true and affectionate, a loyal friend, affectionate daughter, a good mother and a most devoted wife. Her daily life was full of acts of kindness and unselfishness. On the back of the card is a handwritten letter addressed to: Dear Alice (Webb) from M (Mary) Bayly. In the note Mary (May's mother) records that she has kept some of the cards for Mrs May de Lautour's sons to read as they were too young to understand when she died. The author of the obituary is unknown but it was one who knew and loved her. Harry (the husband) has given them Humphry (a son) and when he leaves college he will be known as Humphry Bayly not de Lautour.
