Brief Description
a. The reference is written on behalf of Mary Webb by the Matron of Wellington Hospital, dated 14 August 1904. It is difficult to decipher the signature but it could be E M Pettit.
In the reference the Matron states that she has a very high opinion of Nurse Webb as a sick nurse and a ward manager. She continues that Nurse Webb had been in Wellington Hospital since October 1900 and during that time had taken her certificate and gained promotion. She was an excellent theatre nurse and trainer of probationers. She was conscientious and reliable and exceedingly kind and attentive to patients under her care.
