Brief Description
The diary was written by Anthony Spur Webb in 1899. In the diary he records daily happenings, notes on his work, who he visited, married, baptised, social events and church services. He and his family were living in Gisborne. Many of the dates have no written entries.

The printed information in the published diary is at the beginning of the book. It contains advertisements, phases of the moon, postal regulations, telegraph offices, New Zealand Government directory, New Zealand Parliamentary Acts, New Zealand Railways, a list of newspapers published in New Zealand, courses and distances for the whole New Zealand coast, interesting facts about New Zealand, census of New Zealand, population tables and New Zealand customs tariffs.
