About this object
a. The letter is addressed to my dear aunt from Maria Paterson, Ripley. In the letter Maria (Patty) discusses her aunt's health, the Emperor and Empresses visit. She thanks her aunt for all the kindnesses that she has done for her in the past. Maria is a governess at Newark House which Mr and Mrs Pfiel rent. She describes her day in detail from the interior and exterior of the house, their meals, the servants and children.

b. With the letter is an envelope addressed to Reverend Anthony Spur Webb, Vicarage, Stockingford. The two do not appear to go together.
