Brief Description
a. The letter is written by Louisa Kerr to her dear Papa, John Kerr. Louisa writes that they are all looking forward to him coming home, that baby Mason is getting better. He cut another tooth and the doctor felt another one coming. Mama is busy picking fruit for Mr Meldrums bun. The boys have finished their lessons and are hurling (sic) about the lobby in a cart they had made. Fritz is sound asleep under the sofa and Bridget is beside her. They had a visit from old Kate. Mama called on Dr Wood and found Mrs Wood to be an agreeable person. They like Mr Low as well as ever and intend commencing the monthly examinations.

b. The envelope is addressed to John Kerr, Morley Hotel, Charing Cross, London. The envelope is date stamped 20 November 1844, Dundee. The red seal is still present but the stamp is missing.
