Brief Description
The letter is addressed to Mrs Kerr, Hawkehill Place from John Hetherton. With the letter John Hetherton mentions that he has sent four small books for the use of Mrs Kerr's young family. He selected the books for their utility, but as he does not know how far advanced in their education the children are, he asks Mrs Kerr to determine which book to give to each child. He wishes both Mr and Mrs Kerr his sincere and constant prayers for years of happiness and comfort. The letter is dated 4 January 1841.
The letter originally had a red seal, however it has been removed.
