Brief Description
The letter is written by Mary Haydon Shouls, Mistress of the Protestant Native Girls' School, Hukarere, Napier, to Mr J Habens.

In the letter Mary is providing a testimonial for Dora Webb who had taught at the school for several months during 1887. She describes Dora as having a well informed mind and would be able to pass the examination for the E certificate. On the back of the letter is a note written possibly by Dora Webb regarding her ability to read and write.
