Brief Description
The letter is written by Mary Haydon Shouls, Mistress of the Protestant Native Girls' School, Hukarere, Napier, to an unknown recipient.

In the letter Mary is providing a testimonial for Dora Webb who had taught at the school for some time particularly during 1887 when one of the teacher's was absent. The children performed well at that year's examination. If Miss Webb had remained permanently at the school she would have fully classified under the Education Department.
