About this object
The photograph shows the township of Napier taken from the hill. The building under construction in the lower left hand corner is the Napier Courthouse which was constructed between 1874 and 1875 at an estimated cost of £3,437.0.Od. The Athenaeum is the small building next door to it. Hastings Street is visible running south in the middle of the photograph. St John's Anglican Church is amongst the trees on the right hand side.
