About this object
The photograph depicts the interior of the Anglican Church at Makotuku in southern Hawke's Bay. On the back of the photograph is a note that is addressed to Reverend E (Edmond) Webb, Prebbleton and reads: Makotuku Church. Decorated for Easter. Light got very blurry. Happy Christmas. A F W (Alice Frances Webb). It has a 1/½d postage stamp attached to the back with a stamp that reads: Ormondville. 23 December 1918.

I was the last baby christened in this church (so Im told!) while it was still in Makotuku in 1967. Not long after it was moved to the Linton Army base.
