About this object
Written on the back of the photograph is: Mr A J Rainbow, Deputy Mayor of Hastings, thanking Mr Mason Chambers for his gift. The gift was 242 acres of the Havelock hills included in which was Te Mata Peak. John, Bernard and Mason Chambers purchased the land for £3000 and donated it to Havelock North. The Te Mata Peak Park was administrated by a Trust Board. The men are standing by the Te Mata Peak Trig.
