About this object
The teaching card is about the Railway Station and leaving on a train. Underneath the picture are instructions addressed to the student to write a story and describe what is happening. This is followed by a suggestion of words that could be used. The aim of the card was to teach grammar and the composition of sentences. The card originally belonged to Margaret Rona Gillies who was a teacher at Turiroa Primary School, Wairoa in 1928 - 1930. On the back are the names of children who took the card home at night for homework.
