The teaching card is about the Circus. Underneath the picture are instructions addressed to the student to write a story about what is happening. This is followed by a plan and words that could be used. The aim of the card was to teach grammar and the composition of sentences. The card originally belonged to Margaret Rona Gillies who was a teacher at Turiroa Primary School, Wairoa in 1928 - 1930. On the back is written the names of the children who took the cards home at night for their English homework.
