Airmail letter from Bernard Madden to his family in Napier dated 10 March 1945.
Bernard writes about receiving news from home with the news that Batt O'Rourke had died, his papers being sent in to the medical board for a discharge, putting on weight, food at the hospital, sending birthday greetings to his father, Patrick J Madden, receiving multiple lots of mail and Patrick being moved around Germany to a new prison camp as the Red Army advances.
Addressed to Mrs P J Madden, 21 Macdonald Street, Napier, Hawke's Bay. Includes a postage stamp, censor's stamp and 3 pence postal stamp.
