Airmail letter and envelope from Bernard Madden to his family in Napier dated 20 February 1945.

a) Bernard writes about feeling better, his kidneys recovering, a strict diet he has been put on, receiving mail from home, a rail strike in New Zealand and Bill returning to his regiment.

Addressed to Mrs P J Madden, 21 Macdonald Street, Napier, Hawke's Bay. Includes a censor's stamp and postal stamp.

b) Envelope entitled: On His Majesty's Service/Airgraph Message/New Zealand Post Office.
