Airmail letter from Bernard Madden to his family in Napier dated 14 February 1945.
Bernard writes about having inflammation of the kidneys, ending up back in hospital, not being able to serve in the armed forces anymore, being on a strict diet in the hospital, losing weight because of this and finally receiving a letter from Tom with pictures.
Addressed to Mrs P J Madden, 21 Macdonald Street, Napier, Hawke's Bay. Includes a censor's stamp, postage stamp and 3 pence stamp.
