About this object
The photograph shows the lock of the Sweet Water canal near the Suez. Written on the back is: Lock of the Sweet Water canal, near the Suez. The lock is full of water now, then they will open the gate, let out the water and boats will proceed on their way. Same as used on the Panama. Vessels can be seen waiting to be let through.
