Airmail letter and envelope from Bernard Madden to his family in Napier dated 30 April 1944.
a) Bernard writes about receiving mail and a parcel, Bill being happy in his current position, the weather in the region, going to the opera and descriptions of the opera house, a trip to Bari, local cuisine, trying to find elastic in the local markets, the black market, an update on multiple individuals and being glad to hear that all is well at home.
b) Envelope is addressed to Mrs P J Madden, 21 Macdonald Street, Napier, Hawke's Bay. Includes a censor's stamp, date stamp and postal stamp. Written on YMCA/On Active Service letterhead.
