Brief Description
Letter and envelope from Bernard Madden to his family in Napier dated 13 May 1944.

a) Bernard writes about receiving mail from home, airgraphs and mail sent by him being diverted, changes noticed in Bill, Jim and Moira after receiving photographs from home, food and cooking at the camp and in the field, daily life on base, map reading exercises, weather in the region, flora of the region, visiting villages and caves in the surrounding area, the local YMCA showing movies and concertos, forms of entertainment and that he is expecting a letter from Bonisch soon.

Written on YMCA/National Patriotic Fund Board/On Active Service letterhead.

b) Envelope addressed to Mrs P J Madden, 21 Macdonald Street, Napier, Hawke's Bay. Includes a postal stamp and censor's stamp. Signed by Bernard Madden acknowledging prerequisites for sending post.
