a) Bernard writes about weather in the area, life in the camp, not being near the front lines, descriptions of the house he is quartered in, the trip from the east to west coast of Italy, an update on Dick and Howard Painter from Napier, receiving a letter from Tom and that Bill is well.
Written on National Patriotic Fund Board/On Active Service letterhead.
b) Envelope is addressed to Mrs P J Madden, 21 Macdonald Street, Napier, Hawke's Bay. Includes a postage stamp and censor's stamp. Signed by Bernard Madden acknowledging prerequisites of posting.
