Brief Description
Letter and envelope from Bernard Madden to his family in Napier dated 1 January 1944.

a) Bernard writes about his Christmas meal at camp, festivities for New Years Eve, being glad Louisa is no longer worried about Pat being a POW, receiving an airgraph message from Louisa and a patriotic parcel from Greenmeadows-Taradale, a visit to Taranto, Dick making a visit to Bari, getting a boil on his knee and visiting the doctor and Bob visiting O'Rourke.

b) Envelope is addressed to Mrs P J Madden, 21 Macdonald Street, Napier, Hawke's Bay. Includes a postage stamp and censor's stamp. Signed by Bernard Madden acknowledging the conditions of posting.
