Airmail letter and envelope from Bernard Madden to his family in Napier dated 1 August 1943.
a) Bernard writes about weather in the region, having to take care of his feet, buying more things to send home in a parcel, Bill being in Palestine and Bob in Alexandria, possible peace with Italy, Patrick being sent home if there is peace and his mother Louisa's health.
Addressed to Mrs P J Madden, 21 Macdonald Street, Napier, Hawke's Bay. Includes a censor's stamp and date stamp.
b) Envelope is entitled: On His Majesty's Service/Airgraph Message. Postage stamp not included.
