a) Bernard writes about possibly being allowed out of hospital, being sorry for past remarks to Noeline about American troops in New Zealand, O'Rourke getting in a fight, losing his wallet with photographs in it, his sergeant updating him on Palestine and Cairo, meeting Laurie Griffin at Mass and being pleased to hear Patsy is doing well at school.
Written on Red Cross/On Active Service letterhead.
b) Envelope addressed to Mrs P J Madden, 21 Macdonald Street, Napier. Includes a postage stamp and censor's stamp. Written on Red Cross/On Active Service letterhead.
