Brief Description
Airmail letter and envelope from Bernard Madden to his family in Napier dated 18 April 1943.
a) Bernard writes about airmail being an express version of the surface mail, himself and Bill doing well, Bill being promoted to sergeant, a beer famine in the area and meeting an individual from Napier. Includes a censor's stamp, date stamp and serial number stamp. Addressed to Mrs P J Madden, 21 Macdonald Street, Napier, Hawke's Bay.
b) Envelope entitled: On His Majesty's Service, Airgraph Message, New Zealand Post Office. Postage not attached.
