About this object
Photograph of the Wairoa Post and Telegraph Office taken in the aftermath of the Hawke's Bay earthquake of 3 February 1931. The building was damaged as a result of the earthquake. Men can be seen working to clear the debris. Others are in the process of adding sheets of corrugated iron to the facade where the cladding has been lost. Cranes Tobacconist can be seen on the far right.

A handwritten note on the back of the photograph reads: Post Office. Your old office OK.
