Brief Description
Letter from Bernard Madden to his family in Napier dated 17 March 1943.

a) Bernard writes about receiving letters and postcards from home, gives an update on individuals who have sent him mail, wanting more mail to be sent over, details of Noeline's latest mail, censoring of previously sent mail, a jaundice outbreak at El Alamein, losing a watch in Tripoli, means of buying and sending tobacco overseas and the unit moving out soon to new positions. Postscript mentions that Pat's letters are being returned and gives an address for the POW camp he is stationed at in Italy.

b) Envelope is addressed to Mrs P J Madden, 21 Macdonald Street, Napier. Includes a censor's stamps and postage stamp. Signed by Bernard Madden acknowledging terms of sending post.
