About this object
View of Tennyson Street, Napier, taken in the aftermath of the Hawke's Bay earthquake on 3 February 1931. The photograph has been taken from Marine Parade, looking up the street. The band rotunda donated to the city by Neal and Close can be seen in the left foreground. Clouds of dust or smoke rise from site of the Masonic Hotel, which is located immediately behind the band rotunda. The street is littered with rubble. The top of the Public Trust Building can be seen in the distance.
