Brief Description
Letter and envelope from Bernard Madden to his family in Napier dated 10 November 1942.

a) Bernard writes about the Eight Army's recent victory over the Afrika Corps, morale rising within the unit, possibly being reposted in the near future, receiving a new lot of mail, Bill going on a trip to Cairo for a weeks leave, being paid and deciding where to spend it, a reluctance to write to Aunt Biddie because of Leatha's death, an update on Pat and well wishes for the family.

Written on YMCA/Active Service, Lowry Hut letterhead.

b) Envelope is addressed to Mrs P J Madden, 21 Macdonald Street, Napier, Hawke's Bay. Includes a censor's stamp and postage stamp. Signed by Bernard Madden acknowledging the terms for posting.
