Sir
Under instructions from the Honble (Honourable) Native Minister I have the honor to inform you that His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to award you the New Zealand Cross for gallant services rendered by you during the late war. The decoration will be handed to you publicly on parade instructions to that effect having been sent to Inspector Goring.
I have the honor to be Sir -
