Brief Description
Letter and envelope from Bernard Madden to his family in Napier dated 12 October 1942.

a) Bernard writes about an uneventful week, storms in the region, Bill and himself being on the unit surf team, a possible trip to Jerusalem, an update on multiple individuals, flooding during another storm, Bill asking for a transfer to the railways and taking a trip out of camp with a camera to take pictures of the area for a photograph album.

Written on YMCA, National Patriotic Fund Board/Active Service letterhead.

b) Envelope addressed to Mrs P J Madden, 21 Macdonald Street, Napier, Hawke's Bay. Includes a censor's stamp and postage stamp. Signed by Bernard Madden acknowledging terms of sending post.
