Letter and envelope from Bernard Madden to his family in Napier dated 20 September 1942.
a) Bernard writes about still being in a British hospital, being held up for an x-ray as the specialist at hospital is sick, looking forward to being on New Zealand troop rations again, meals given to patients, treatment of new patients, a visit from French ladies from Ismailia and weather in the region.
b) Envelope addressed to Mrs P J Madden, 21 Macdonald Street, Napier, Hawke's Bay. Includes a censor's stamp and postage stamp. Signed by Bernard Madden acknowledging the terms for posting.
