Bernard writes about receiving a large amount of mail recently, Bill and Iris losing their daughter, telling his father to take it easy on the air raid wardens, being pleased to hear Judy enjoyed the present he sent her, bored being laid up in hospital, updates on other individuals in hospital with him, Pat Madden receiving better care now that he is in a permanent POW camp in Italy, Father Spring delivering Mass at the hospital and parcels to POW camps, as well as giving his best to his old company and family.
