a) Bernard talks about receiving a letter from Pat Madden, being in isolation since a soldier contracted measles, Phil arriving in the Middle East, hopes for an end to the war in the near future due to recent developments, a lack of mail from home and wishes the family well.
b) Envelope is addressed to Mrs P J Madden, 21 Macdonald Street, Napier, Hawke's Bay. Includes two censor's stamps and a postage stamp.
