Brief Description
Letter and envelope from Bernard Madden to his family in Napier dated 12 April 1942.
a) Bernard writes about working hard at a new camp near a vineyard a few miles from his old position, precautions taken against mosquitoes, Bill Madden leaving for a skiing course in the mountains nearby, taking a trip back to Egypt the next day, receiving photographs of the family from home, as well as meeting Jack Corry and Jim Neville from Napier during the week. Bernard also congratulates Ray and Maimie Madden on the arrival of their child and wishes the family well. Postscript mentions a clipping sent to Bernard by Ray.
b) Envelope addressed to Mrs P J Madden, 21 Macdonald Street, Napier, Hawke's Bay. Includes postage stamp dated 16 April 1942.
