a) Bernard writes about a change in circumstances regarding the delivery of mail to New Zealand, receiving three letters and a parcel from home, asks after an individual named Ken, sending cards home, an improvement in the weather in Libya, his daily routine, the surrounding area, hawker's attempting to sell curios and souvenirs, as well as Bill Madden and himself celebrating Patrick Joseph Maddens birthday. Bernard also asks after Leatha and Aunty Bid.
b) Envelope addressed to Mrs P J Madden, 21 Macdonald Street, Napier, Hawke's Bay. Includes postage stamp and censor's stamp. Signed by Bernard Madden as accepting conditions for posting.
