Brief Description
Letter from Bernard Madden to his family from Trentham Military Camp. The letter is undated but it would have been written in 1941 as that was when Bernard attended Trentham Military Camp.
Bernard states that his mother is ill and wishes her better. Describes in detail a military exercise with engineers from Plimmerton to Otaki, Foxton, Shannon and Horowhenua Lake. Describes a mock attack on the air force base in Levin in which he took part. Thanks his family for sending a parcel and asks that he share out copies of photographs he has had printed to the rest of the family. Mentions that he may be leaving overseas soon with his unit.
Written on National Patriotic Fund Board letterhead and listed as on active service.
