Brief Description
Scrapbook, titled H B A G M. The scrapbook contains newspaper cuttings, programmes and notices relating to the Hawke's Bay Art Gallery and Museum, Napier, for the period 1957 to 1959. The newspaper cuttings cover topics such as building works, new acquisitions, exhibitions and performances. Among the newspaper cuttings are several obituaries, including those of the museum's Director, Leonard Delabere Bestall, and Hawke's Bay artist Mrs Alice Lethbridge Avery. Press coverage of the opening of the Centennial Wing at the Canterbury Museum in Christchurch in November 1958 also appears in the scrapbook.

The scrapbook also contains reproductions of paintings and some photographs of unidentified members of the Royal Academy.
