Brief Description
Scrapbook, titled H B A G M. The scrapbook contains newspaper cuttings relating to the Hawke's Bay Art Gallery and Museum, Napier, for the period December 1939 to December 1951. The newspaper cuttings cover topics such as building works, new acquisitions, exhibitions and performances. Among the newspaper cuttings are several obituaries of donors and members of the Hawke's Bay Art Society, including those of Lady Florence Kate McLean, Miss Cora Mabel Vivian Fannin, and Roland Hipkins.
Also included in the scrapbook are Post Office telegrams congratulating the museum's Director, Leonard Delabere Bestall, on receiving an M B E in 1949, and a black and white photograph of two members of the museum staff modelling a three-dimensional map of the Hawke's Bay.
