About this object
Group portrait of the Rissington Recorder Group taken at Omatua, Rissington, in 1954. The group was formed by members of the Rissington Country Women's Institute following a visit by Nancy Martin, music tutor for Adult Education in the Victoria University College region. The group are seated on a flight of stone steps.

The women are identified as follows:
Back row, from left to right: Miss J Bull, Mrs L Woolster, Mrs J Jeromson.
Middle row, from left to right: Mrs A Wooster, Mrs R Absolom, Mrs H W Bowling, Miss N Hughes, Mrs A Absolom.
Front row, from left to right: Miss C Sloan, Mrs G Lang, Mrs J McKain, Mrs H W Youren.

Omatua Homestead is visible in the background.
